St. Joseph Place transforms two adjacent historic school buildings from 1916 and 1959 into 50 affordable senior apartments, preserving original features like terrazzo floors, green wall tile corridors, hardwood doors, transom windows, and classical millwork. These elements are integrated into a refined, modern residential setting. Thoughtful interior finishes and lighting complement the architectural character of both the 1920s school and the mid-century annex, creating comfortable and dignified living spaces. Restored features such as chalkboards and windowsills honor the buildings' educational history, while a new modern connector improves accessibility between wings. Communal areas, including a spacious lobby, resident lounges, and a community room next to the courtyard, combine period details with modern amenities to encourage connection and well-being.
