The interior renovation of this historic former YMCA blends preservation with thoughtful, modern design to support residents transitioning out of homelessness. Warm, durable finishes and calming colors foster a sense of dignity and comfort throughout the 111 studio apartments and shared amenity spaces. A new community room, with a demonstration kitchen, game tables, and a learning center, encourages connection and empowerment. At the same time, additional upgrades include a gym, bike storage, and on-site support service suites. The design respects the building’s legacy while creating a welcoming, functional environment for healing and growth. Bergenview Apartments earned ENERGY STAR and Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) certifications, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and long-term resident well-being.
