Originally built in 1978 as the American Postal Workers House, 801 Residences has been thoughtfully transformed into a 300-unit, 13-story affordable housing community for low-income seniors. The comprehensive interior renovation includes fully updated kitchens and bathrooms in each unit, with new cabinets, fixtures, lighting, and appliances to enhance comfort and independence. Shared areas, including a library, solarium, computer center, and community kitchen, were refreshed with new flooring, wall coverings, LED lighting, and furniture to create inviting, comfortable shared spaces. A soothing, neutral palette and accessible layouts improve livability, while a new outdoor terrace provides a peaceful urban retreat. The result is a modern, resident-focused design centered in dignity, functionality, and thoughtful design.
